HARDEN HORSE TRIALS & HARDEN PONY CLUB

Harden holds its horse trials and pony club events in August.

The Harden Horse Trials are a two-day event held at Murrumburrah Showground on the first weekend of August, with dressage and show jumping on Saturday and cross-country on Sunday.

The following Sunday is reserved for the Pony Club events, also at Murrumburrah Showground.

Harden Cross Country Course is available to riders at other times.

Harden Picnic Race Club organises the annual Harden Picnic Races, held each year in November at the Harden Racecourse, Burley Griffin Way, Harden.

Feature race on the six-event program is the Harden Cup, won in 2009 by Pass it On (pictured left, blue cap, nearing the post)

The Harden Picnic Races features hospitality tents, fashions, children's activities, gourmet food outlets, beer and Hilltops wine bars.

Harden Country Club offers an 18-hole, 5657 m, par 71 golf course set in beautiful rolling countryside. 

A great course under majestic skies with grand views and  fresh air make this ideal for groups to share a sporting experience. The clubhouse has a bar and squash courts.

Highlights of the year are the Australian two-lady and  two-man Ambrose competitions in September, which attract over 200 competitors.

Annual playing membership is $270, and $5 for 9 holes, $10 for 18 holes or $200 for unlimited rounds.

 Non-members pay $20 a round, with golf cart hire $25

HARDEN GLIDING CLUB

Harden Gliding Club (HGC) is a small, friendly and affordable winch-launching gliding club which normally operates on most weekends and public holidays from a private airstrip at Bendick-Murrell, 20 km north-east of Young. The best conditions are from October to April.

While Bendick-Murrell airfield is undergoing repairs,  HGC will operate from the Goulburn Gliding Group's airfield at Carrick, near Goulburn.

HARDEN TOUCH FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

Harden Touch Football Association conducts an annual competition in summer, starting in late October and culminating in the grand finals across three grades in March.

About 24 teams sponsored by local businesses take part in the Thursday evening competition at Roberts Park, Murrumburrah.

Each team has a mix of genders and ages, and teams are divided into three levels on the basis of skill.
